Ready to Save Money on Energy Bills?
Let’s Talk About Spray Roof Foam Insulation
Proper insulation will save your business money on energy bills by protecting your building from energy loss and water infiltration. It also helps the environment by reducing the CO2 emissions related to keeping a building comfortable. At A & L Foam, we are experts at installing spray polyurethane foam insulation (SPF) on the exteriors, undersides and interiors of businesses.
- It has excellent thermal performance. SPF has a high R-value, a measure of a material’s resistance to conductive heat flow. The higher an insulation’s R-value, the more effective it is.
- It is airtight. Air flow can impact a business’s heating and cooling costs by 30%. SPF expands to fill in cracks so air cannot enter.
- It is strong. When sprayed over wood, metal and OSB, SPF adheres strongly. The result is foam insulation that does not break easily.
Due to its ability to help stabilize temperature and humidity, we often receive requests to spray foam insulation on the inside of metal buildings. This creates a vapor barrier and often solves issues dealing with mold and mildew caused by building “sweat”. SPF insulation is also used in refrigeration and cold storage; we frequently receive calls about spraying foam inside refrigerated warehouses and trucks.
What Is SPF?
SPF is plastic that is applied with a spray gun. Once it comes into contact with a surface, it expands quickly and forms an airtight seal that creates a moisture and air barrier over walls, curved surfaces, the underside of roofs and even corners. A & L’s expert installation techniques include ventilating to limit exposure of the chemicals to our technicians and clients. Once the job is completed, our installation team will clean up the space and be on their way.
